Oracle PeopleSoft is a long-standing enterprise platform for HCM and Financials, widely used in large universities, government agencies, and healthcare systems. PeopleSoft runs on-premises or in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and exposes integrations through PeopleSoft Integration Broker and REST services secured by OAuth 2.0.
Pull active and inactive employees with job data, position, department, and compensation details from the PeopleSoft HCM module. Write back updated personal information or position changes from your product.
Read department trees, business units, and reporting hierarchies from PeopleSoft HR. Askel normalizes PeopleSoft's tree-based org structure into a flat hierarchy your product can consume.
Read pay period results, earnings codes, and deduction records for employees. Askel respects the OAuth client's service operation permissions so only the payroll data explicitly granted is returned.
Pull General Ledger ChartFields (account, department, fund, program) and journal entry data from the PeopleSoft Financials module. Useful for financial analytics products serving large public-sector customers.
Read vendor master data, payment terms, and bank details from the PeopleSoft Payables module. Write back updated contact information from your supplier-management product.
For university customers, read student enrollment records, academic plans, and financial aid data from PeopleSoft Campus Solutions through the same OAuth-secured Integration Broker.
Eastbrook State University runs HCM and payroll for 8,000 faculty and staff on PeopleSoft. They have licensed your workforce-analytics platform to model headcount costs and vacancy trends across colleges and departments. HR leadership needs current employee records and position data from PeopleSoft to flow into the platform every night.
Eastbrook's PeopleSoft security administrator navigates in PIA to PeopleTools > Security > OAuth 2.0 Provider > OAuth Client Setup. They create a new client record for Askel, note the client ID and client secret, and assign the client to the security permission lists covering Employee Data and Position Data service operations.
Eastbrook's IT admin enters the PeopleSoft host URL, client ID, and client secret into the Askel setup screen inside your analytics platform. Askel exchanges the credentials for an OAuth access token via the Integration Broker OAuth endpoint and confirms connectivity by fetching the department list.
Askel reads the PeopleSoft Integration Broker service operations the OAuth client can access and identifies the Employee, Job, Department, and Position message objects. Any custom records Eastbrook has added to standard PeopleSoft components appear in the mapping draft.
Eastbrook tracks a custom funding-source attribute on Job records for grant-funded positions. A CS rep maps this field to the analytics platform's funding dimension and runs a dry-run against the full employee population to confirm position costs categorize correctly.
The nightly sync is enabled. Askel fetches all active employees and positions from Eastbrook's PeopleSoft HCM and loads them into the analytics platform. New hires, transfers, and terminations processed in PeopleSoft reflect in the platform the following morning.
The customer's PeopleSoft security administrator registers Askel as an OAuth 2.0 client in PIA under PeopleTools > Security > OAuth 2.0 Provider > OAuth Client Setup, assigns the client the required service operation permission lists, and provides the client ID and client secret. Askel requests access tokens via the Integration Broker OAuth endpoint and refreshes them automatically.
